Over the next few weeks, I’ll be searching for a flat-share in South London. Why? Because I have a new calling.
I’m going to be working for Reed (primarily a recruitment company), and I’m starting off in their charity division. More specifically, I’ll be helping to manage TheBigGive, a rather exciting project involving matching large donors, with charities they may be interested in. Hence the term, charity search engine.
It’s a very slick website (steeped in web 2.0 technology), and I’m pretty sure that helping to develop it further will be a very worthwhile endeavour. And anyone who knows me will tell you that I love new innovations, which this site most certainly is (currently the only one of its kind, I believe).
I’m sure I’ll have more to say on it later (planned start date is February 11th), but it did strike me that the site blog could probably be leveraged very nicely with EntreCard! Obviously one of the primary uses for the blog (once we get it off blogspot!) will be to draw attention to the project, both through organic visitors, and SEO.
Now, whilst I can’t imagine too many EC users having quite enough money to donate personally, they may be kind enough to quickly blog about it, given the nature of the project. As I said in my last post, EntreCard may not be for everyone, but it is certainly good for some purposes! Whether the powers that be will agree with me, is another matter though.
And before you ask, no, OIOpublisher won’t suffer as a result. I have big plans for it also, and have plenty of time to give both projects the attention they deserve. It’s not hard work, when your job is also your passion.
