Graduation was yesterday - and I’ve got a cheesy-smiled picture (all robed up) to prove it! But that was yesterday, this is today!
A bit of frustration as I was shown this. It’s confirmation that TLA have finally gotten around to starting up an in content links program. Quite frankly, it’s astounding that a company with so much revenue has taken so long to get to that point. LIC was conceived almost exactly 1 year ago, and I’m disappointed that we still are unable to launch. We could have been the first ones to launch such a program, now we most certainly are not.
Development has been sickeningly slow sometimes. I should add that I haven’t been the developer on this project, although lately I’ve been doing a bit of stuff to try and get things moving. I constructed a wordpress plugin to let us provide in content links, but since then nothing has been done with it - and yes, its frustrating to say the least. I’ve been focusing on my own projects recently, which has turned out to be the right choice.
It’s not all doom and gloom though. TLA will never be direct competition, since it deals with the big boys’ links, whereas our own focus was always on the little guys. I have seen a couple of other setups providing a service like this, but I don’t think anyone has taken control of things yet. I want to hurry things along now, as I believe we have to be hot on the heels of TLA with our own offering, to pick up the (large amount of) people who don’t qualify for it.
My priority still lies with OIOpublisher and OIOclicks, since I believe both are genuinely something new and different to traditional offerings. But when LIC is ready to roll, you can be sure I will be in full support mode! It still has a lot to offer, and could well pick up a large portion of the market if we get it launched ASAP.
