Final Countdown to New Site
Published by Simon on September 14th, 2008We’re almost there! After what seems like an age, all that’s now left to do is final testing…
I’m half way through an audit of the new software (which aims to attract a wider audience beyond Wordpress users), and will follow that up with testing of the new website created for OIOpublisher.
It’s been a huge under-taking, but should be well worth it! [..]
Sneak Preview of New Version
Published by Simon on July 28th, 2008It’s about time I posted an update on progress of the evolution of OIOpublisher. And luckily for you, Iv’e got not one, but two things to show you.
First, the new script. Below is a link to login to the admin console of 2.0 (beta). You might be wondering why it looks so different. The answer is that it’s functioning in standalone mode (ie. not integrated into Wordpress as normal). The beauty of this new script is that it will still work as a WP plugin in exactly the same way as the old version.

Feel free to play around with it. There will no doubt still be a few bugs here and there (not finished testing everything yet), so if you do come across one, please post here and let [..]
Progress Update, OIO 2.0
Published by Simon on June 17th, 2008A number of people have been asking me about the new version, so here’s an update.
Is there an ETA yet?
No; it’s done when I’m happy with it. That’s all you’re getting for now!
How’s development progressing?
I’m extremely happy with it so far. It now runs on a very robust core that should be able to throw out a lot of pageviews with minimum resource usage. It will run as a standalone ad server if wanted, but it also looks and functions almost exactly the same when used as a Wordpress plugin as the current version does - which itself is an achievement, I think.
How will it perform?
You won’t find any big new features in the 2.0 release; that was never the aim. What I’m attempting to do is create a [..]
Working on OIOpublisher 2.0
Published by on May 28th, 2008I don’t know if it can be called a re-write from the ground up, but I’ve taken the first steps towards building a more versatile script, with standalone functionality & multiple platform compatibility in mind.
The end result should be an ad platform that works on any php website (more or less), but also integrates as seamlessly with Wordpress (and hopefully other platforms) as it does now.
Here’s hoping it’s a good one! [..]
